Meleny Carrillo was 1-for-1 with 2 rbi’s in the loss for the Warriors under very windy conditions in Lancaster. Due to the Senior Breakfast and the SAT the Warriors brought up help from the JV squad. Erandi Raygoza caught well and Giselle Toscano added an inning in relief in the loss to Faith Baptist.

Game Recap

The Warriors played in front of their biggest crowd of the year on Senior Day and dropped a tough 10-9 loss to league leading St. Genevieve. The Warriors entered the 7th inning with a 7-5 lead and only needed 3 outs for the victory, but their defense broke down and the Valiants scored 5 runs to take a 10-7 lead. They managed a rally but fell short falling to 10-9. Christina Rodarte pitched another excellent game going all 7 innings with 105 pitches and only allowing 2 earned runs while getting 1 hit. Samantha Nacayama went 2-for-5 with a left field home run and 3 rbi’s. Savannah Mesa and Seini Hala scored 2 runs each while leading hitter Seini Hala was intentionally walked 5 times. The Warriors battle for 3rd place continues as they take on St. Marys next Tuesday in the last league game of the year.

The NFL Draft took place last week in Philadelphia. Held on the Rocky Steps at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, it was the first draft held entirely outdoors, and was the most attended in history with more than 250,000 people attending. Over three days, all 32 NFL teams chose players who they hope could be the future of their franchise.

Game Recap

The Warriors prepared for their game against League leader St. Genevieve by routing Bell-Jeff 28-0. The Warriors were the benefactors of 12 walks and 6 hit batters along with 6 Guard errors. Christina Rodarte limited he Guards to 3 hits while striking out 9 with no walks in the victory. Sam Nacayamaand Adela Peralta had 2 hits apiece while Denise Sarabia had 4 rbi’s.

The Warriors take on the first place St. Genevieve Valiants Thursday in their last regular season home game as they continue in the battle for the playoffs. It will also be Senior day as they play their last game at home at 2:30.

Game Recap

The Lady Warriors played much better against the Div. III powerhouse Paraclete Spirits in the 2nd game of the tourney but lost 7-0. Christina Rodarte scattered 10 hits and only gave up 2 earned runs and Samantha Nacayama broke up the perfect game with a single in the 7th inning. The Warriors continue play in the tourney next Saturday with 2 games at times to be determined.

The Warriors won in straight sets on the road Thursday. Setter and captain Alfredo Ramirez had 23 assists. Senior Matthew Rivera led all offense with a team high 8 kills, followed by Junior Ivan Gutierrez with 4 kills. Middle hitter Ahmed Salem contributed with 2 blocks. The warriors play their final league match on Monday May 1st at 6 pm at Bellarmine-Jefferson High School in Burbank.
